iPhone X or 8 Plus? No more Confusion!

Which phone should I buy, iPhone X or the 8 Plus? This is one of the most frequent questions these days by many people. So here, I am giving a basic information about it.

The eight and 8+ or minimal upgrade, they are the same body style size and shape as the 7 and 7+, 6s and 6s+, and the 6 and 6+. And they are just a minimal step forward from last year‘s model with a better camera, better processor and better storage capabilities.

The ihone X on the other hand is a completely new product. Although it is an iPhone, and shares the same software as the prior models, it has completely new hardware. That new hardware includes a different kind of screen (the brand new OLED screen) which provides significantly better colors and deeper resolutions, a significantly improved front facing camera with facial recognition capabilities for unlocking your phone, and most importantly a larger screen size (5.8 inches) then even the largest iPhone plus (5.4 inches) in a body that is only slightly larger than the normal sized iPhones.

In addition to those basic hardware changes, it also does not have a home button. This makes it a revolutionary leap forward an iPhone technology. There is a very good reason why Apple released all of these phones. The 8 and 8+ are for people who need or want to new phone, but do not want major hardware changes, a steep learning curve or a larger price tag. The X is for people who want next generation technology today. They are OK with having to utilize the phone differently ( mostly due to the missing home button) in exchange for a better screen, better camera, and a larger size phone screen without the larger sized phone body.

For me the screen size is the reason I am most interested in the X. I have always lusted after the plus sized cameras, but never wanted the plus sized phone body. With the X, I can have the best of both worlds. The better camera, with an even larger screen, without a larger phone itself!

Now, below is my conclusion about these 2 phones:

Go for the iPhone 8 Plus:

1. If you’re coming from an iPhone 6 or older—many of the iPhone 8 Plus’s features, like the camera, will be brand-new to you.

2. If you’re more price-conscious.

3. If you really like Touch ID and have no interest in Face ID.

4. If you want a familiar user experience in a faster device, and want to skip the learning curve it takes to nail new gestures.

5. If you like the large size of the Plus models.

Go for the iPhone X:

1. If you want the latest and greatest technology.

2. If you have to have OLED and/or Face ID.

3. If you want a new interface and user experience, but want to stay in the Apple ecosystem instead of switching to Android.

4. If you’re on a yearly upgrade plan like Apple’s iPhone Upgrade Program—the monthly cost difference is reasonable and it’s a good way to try new tech without a complete buy-in.

5. If you’re less concerned with cost and are willing to pay for Apple Care or shell out the big bucks if it breaks for your iphone repair. The iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X both have dual cameras, except the iPhone X has Face ID, a notch, no home button, and a bigger price tag.
